Buttermilk Chocolate Cake

Here is the Most Moist, Chocolatey Cake ever! For Every Chocolate Lover, this is a recipe from heaven. So who wants a piece of cake?

Buttermilk Chocolate Cake

  • 360 g all-purpose flour
  • 200 g granulated sugar
  • 150 g unsweetened cacao powder
  • 1 tbsp baking soda
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 4 large eggs
  • 360 ml buttermilk
  • 360 ml warm water
  • 250 g unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

  • 250 ml soya cuisine whipping cream ( or use original)
  • 200 g milk chocolate
  • 5 tbsp sour cream (optional)
  • Freeze dried raspberries for decoration

  1. Preheat oven to 180C
  2. Prepare a cake form by spraying it with vegetable oil
  3. Mix all dry ingredients in a stand mixer using a low speed until combined
  4. Add eggs, buttermilk, water, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Beat on a medium speed until smooth, buttery consistency
  5. Spread batter evenly in the cake form
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes
  7. Cool for 15 minutes and then turn out the cake on a large plate and allow to cool down completely
  8. Meanwhile, make the frosting by melting whipping the soya cuisine, adding melted milk chocolate and 5 tbsp sour cream and mixing until smooth
  9. If you are using a single, large cake form as I did (~42×29 cm), cut the cake vertically into a half and if you want more layers, just cut horizontally every half of the cake
  10. Frost with the chocolate frosting, sprinkle freeze dried raspberries on top

    A teaspoon of heaven
  11. Put the cake into the refrigerator for min. 30 minutes before serving

    Sprinkled with freeze dried raspberries

Enjoy your perfect piece of cake!
