Easy Scones Recipe

Just a quick share with you all! This is a must-have recipe in every home cookbook. Simply easy and delicious scones. And by adding some dried fruits, nuts or chocolate will make your scones more fancy 😊

Dried raspberries and dark chocolate chips give extra taste to classic scones

 

Ingredients (serves 8 scones):

  • 125 ml milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 250 g all-purpose flour
  • 3 tsp baking powder
  • 60 g butter
  • 60 g granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • Dried fruits, nuts or chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 200 C
  2. In a medium bowl, beat egg and milk together until combined; set aside
  3. In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. Cut in butter. Stir egg and milk mixture into flour mixture until moistened
  4. Add dried fruit (I used dried raspberries) and dark chocolate chips
  5. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface, and knead briefly
  6. Roll dough out into a 2-3 cm thick round. Cut into 8 wedges (or make round shaped scones as I did), place on the prepared baking tray
  7. Bake 15-18 minutes or until golden brown
